You should always contact your insurer first, to inform whether your insurer will pay for your treatment in Medisch Spectrum Twente. You will receive forms from your insurer to fill in before your treatment can take place.
The invoice
With the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), you have rights for essential medical care during a temporary stay abroad (find more information: www.ehic.nl). If you have an EHIC, MST can submit the invoice via ‘Agis abroad’. If you don’t have an EHIC, you will be treated in the hospital as an uninsured patient. This means that you will have to pay the invoice yourself and then you can submit your declaration to your healthcare insurer.
